Abstract

Thematic analysis is a widely used method for interpreting qualitative interview data, yet beginning researchers often struggle with how to move from raw transcripts to meaningful themes. This research tip introduces the six-phase framework of thematic analysis proposed by Braun and Clarke and demonstrates its practical application using a small data excerpt exploring the question of the purpose of higher education.
